Family

Andy De Decker(1971) has been photographing his family since 1991. He photographs what he feels close to,what he sees around him,because he knows it well and sees things others might not(or no longer) notice.
Throughout the years he has revealed himself as a privileged witness of his own environment. He is not guilty of sensationalism. He leads us to a world of seemingly unimportant moments in the monotone rhythm of a daily ritual.
An atmosphere that becomes increasingly recognisable and close to the bone, as well as becoming more and more universal.

This selection shows work from 1991 to the present. they are first exploratory and naive, almost romantic.
Now they are more revealing, typifying the distance that has gradually grown between the photographer and his family.
